Open Cut List error with Miter cuts "cross section not available"

I'm working on a project with 3 board widths, 1x8, 1x6, and 1x4 - all the other cuts worked well in the cut list, but my boards that have miter cuts going in opposite directions give me and error: "cross section not available." It seems to think my width is my length for some reason. I've attached screenshots. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Things I've tried already: rotating boards to be vertical, rotating texture along cut. What else should I try?

I think that your problem come from axes orientation in your part component.

The solution to solve this is explained in this video. (But the video is in french)

OpenCutList only uses bounding box to extract length, with an thickness.
The bounding box of a part in visible in Sketchup when you select the component instance : it's the blue box.

If the blue box do not fit the part, it's because component axes are not aligned with your part.

In last release, OCL try to detect this kind of problem and add a small warning :

That was exactly right, my bounding box is huge compared to my cut. Adjusting the axis of the component fixed it, thank you!

Follow up, why do boards like these not generate cutting diagrams? Are they unnecessary?

Boris Beaulant

Are they unnecessary?

No, this feature is just work in progress :)
